Saint Lucia and Morocco Sign Visa Waiver and Roadmap of Cooperation Agreements

On November 8, 2024, senior officials from Saint Lucia and the Kingdom of Morocco signed a visa waiver agreement for diplomatic passport holders in Rabat, Morocco, marking a strengthening of diplomatic ties between the two countries. This agreement will simplify the entry process for diplomatic passport holders as they will not need a visa to travel between the two countries. It will also facilitate closer collaboration on important global issues and boost engagement between diplomats from Saint Lucia and Morocco.

At the same time, the two countries signed a Roadmap of Cooperation Agreement, which outlines the strategic areas of collaboration between Saint Lucia and Morocco from 2025 to 2027. The key sectors included in this agreement are education, agriculture, fisheries, economic development and investment, culture, and technical cooperation. The agreement details several mutual goals and initiatives to propel the countries towards prosperity through collaboration and exchange of expertise. 

The signing of the agreements highlights the commitment of the governments of Saint Lucia and the Kingdom of Morocco to collaborate on their shared interests and achieve progress for their countries. It’s expected that the agreements will follow legislative and administrative procedures and be implemented shortly.
